I’ve really got to stop working on challenges last minute. I’m switching it up this time, I did all stamping and used no dies. That’s right, all my panels were cut old-school with a paper trimmer. With this card, I’m playing along with the (very nearly not) currrent MFT Color Challenge.

I needed a birthday card for a friend last week. I had a pretty good idea what I wanted to do, and the current sketch for the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge worked perfectly with it. I stamped the succulent & pot with a gray Hybrid Ink and then water colored the images with dye ink.

You know those cards/projects that don’t turn out like they looked in your mind? And on top of that you just plain don’t like how it turned out? And now it’s late, and you don’t feel like staying up late (again) to try again and the challenge deadline is tomorrow? Yeah… On the plus side, I play along with these challenges as a way of making myself use my supplies. It’s all too easy to let my supplies sit and collect dust. So in that respect, I suppose this card was a success simply because I completed it. Well, that’s the story I’m going to go with, anyway.
Stamps: Label Maker Sentiments, Wood Plank BG (MFT)
Paper: Gravel Gray, Smooth White, Silver SParkle, Green-Eyed Monster Sparkle (MFT); Distress Watercolor Card Stock (Ranger)
Ink: Green-Eyed Monster, Gravel Gray, Sno Cone, Insulation Pink (MFT)

My friend asked me if I could make a 1st birthday card. I decided to use the current Color Throwdown colors for it.

I know someone with an almost Halloween birthday and I usually go with the Hallowen theme for a card. The current MFT Color Challenge seemed like a perfect excuse to make a birthday card with a little Copic coloring on this cute monster.

Paper: Smooth White, Orange Fizz (MFT)
Ink: Black Licorice Hybrid, Boysenberry (MFT)
